K R Ravindran is the CEO of Printcare PLC, a company he founded in 1980. From these small beginnings in a garage sized work shop Printcare has evolved into one of South Asia‟s most respected printing, packaging and premedia solution providers working across a broad spectrum of industries. They have a significant export presence with multiple plants in Sri Lanka and overseas. Printcare is a technology leader in the print industry and commands respect for its professional style of management based on high ethical standards and abiding principles and is committed to operating in a way where the environment is protected. He was the first President of the Sri Lanka Anti Narcotics Association ( SLANA) which today is the leading agency fighting drug addiction in Sri Lanka He headed a national committee consisting of Rotary, the Health ministry and UNICEF, for the eradication of polio and was responsible along with UNICEF to negotiate a cease fire with the LTTE to facilitate National Immunization Days.. Sri Lanka became the first country in South Asia to become Polio free. He also headed a project to build anew 25 modern schools across the country to replace those destroyed by the tsunami at a cost of over US$12m. Consequently 15,000 children were able to return to better schools with excellent facilities. He served as the global President of the 108 year Rotary International, the largest subscription based service organization in the world represented, in over 200 countries.

He became only the first Sri Lankan and the tenth Asian to hold this prestigious office and had to locate himself in Chicago for two years returning to Sri Lanka in July 2016. As world President of Rotary he met with many Heads of States and also with Pope Francis and UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. He has received the key to many cities around the world, been honoured with a Doctorate by the University of Korea, and has had a postage stamp with his profile released
