Sri Lanka Association of Printers organized a career guidance program for final year school children who are studying for Ordinary Level and Advance Level examinations at Yakkala Maha Vidyalaya in Yakkala.
The event was a one-day event held in two sessions and the total participation was 178 school children.
The event was an eye opener for the children, who had absolutely no clue nor knowledge in the printing industry. The children were addressed by prominent figures in the printing industry namely: Mr.Janaka Rathnakumara Chairman of State Printing Corporation, Mr.Malinda Tennakoon of JDC Printng Technologies (Pvt)Ltd, Mr.Amila Wanniarachchi and Mr.Sarath Wanchawalage from Sri Lanka Institute of Printing who address the children on various aspects of printing.
The children were rather amaze and found the program very useful and informative and thereby would set a guideline to enable the children to plan their career path in the future.
The program was sponsored by Sithara Limited and Atlas Axillia Co. (Pvt) Limited who generously came forward to support Sri Lanka Association of Printers to hold the career guidance program.
Sri Lanka Association of Printers intends to hold many more programs of this nature in various provinces in Sri Lanka in the near future. Sri Lanka Association of Printers sincerely thank the Principal of Yakkala Maha Vidyalaya for all assistance rendered to Sri Lanka Association of Printers that paved the way to have a very successful programme.
